Hi, my name is Rio! I am a terrier mix of some sort and just a puppy looking for my forever home! Foster mom says her favorite thing about me is that I'm potty trained and have had no accidents since I moved in. I was a stray picked up in Cedar Rapids until the loving people at Last Hope snagged me out of animal control to find me a better life. I can't even tell you how excited I am about it!  I currently live with a cat who I pretty much ignore. He hisses at me if I get too close so I've been pretty submissive and stay away if I can. The dogs I live with are much happier to see me and we play all the time. There's one dog my size who I like to play with the best but I don't discriminate and will play with the two little dogs here too.  I LOVVVVVE toys!! I don't have much experience with kids but as long as you realize I am a puppy and have puppy energy and could knock small kids down, I'd love to have a small human sibling.  My foster mom says the puppy in me gets a little too rowdy sometimes so I need to be reminded other dogs aren't as big or strong as me. She gives me a lot of praise after I calm down though! She says I listen very well and will stop dead in my tracks if she sternly tells me no. She thinks I'd be the star student in an obedience class because I'm so smart and want to be a good boy.  I already know some basic commands and can't wait to learn more!  I love to play, play, and play some more. I'd love to be a running buddy, walking buddy, or a couch snuggle buddy.  I get so snuggled up next to my foster parents sometimes that they will let me sleep right on their lap!!  I sleep quietly in a kennel at night next to the bed and don't even mind. I'm usually exhausted at night and am ready for sleep! I also nap in my kennel when my foster parents are at work so I can be ready to play when they get home.  I'm food motivated, but can you blame me? Foster mom says I need to gain weight because I'm way too skinny. I haven't had any aggression issues with food or anything else but foster mom is real careful feeding me because I will eat FAST and forever if you'd let me and then still grab whatever you have in your hand or within my reach.
