Hi my name is Baxter! I am a 12 year old, male Jack Russel Terrier and I weigh 20 pounds. I came to Last Hope Animal Rescue recently because I didn’t quite know how to act with the new baby in the home after being the focus of my parents’ attention for all my life. I do great with other dogs and kids old enough to be respectful around small dogs. I am potty trained and crate trained, but I do fine without being in the crate during the day if you have to be at work. As a terrier, I see it as my duty to bark to alert you of approaching people or dogs, but I will stop as soon as they go by. 

I love to go on long walks and play fetch; I will even bring the ball right back to you so you don’t even have to get up to throw it to me. After a walk or a session of fetch, my favorite activity is to cuddle with you on the couch or in bed under the blankets. Because I still have lots of playful energy, but am not off the wall with it like a puppy, my foster mom says I seem more like a 6 year old; no one can believe I am actually 12. 

My only known health issue is dental plaque and that should be solved when I go in for a dental cleaning in a few days. I am a great dog with a lot of years left in me to love you and make you laugh!
