Tripod, Ongoing Ear Infections - requires bi-monthly meds
Meet Ryker! This strikingly handsome boy is a young senior, estimated to be possibly 8-10 years old. His exact age is hard to tell as Ryker was in quite rough shape when he joined us, as having been an outside cat he could appear older than he actually was. Ryker is a tripod, he is missing a back leg, although he hides it very well! We did a surgical amputation in 2020 when he joined us with a badly injured leg. Ryker also has a distinctive fold to his ears from what appears to be a scar, we think this makes him look all the more handsome!
Ryker is very shy with strangers and does take some time to warm up, he truly seems to prefer the company of cats over people so is best suited to a cat savvy home where he can join a clowder of cats (aka a group of cats!) He'll enjoy having 1 or more adult/mature cats to snuggle up with! A quiet home that gives him the time and space to come around on his own terms will be perfect. Once he has learned to trust you, which shouldn't take too long, he will enjoy pets and scratches and will give little head bumps in return! Ryker had a dental procedure in November 2024 and in addition to having many teeth extracted, we did discover chronic ear infections had created multiple inflammatory polyps that did need to be removed. Ryker will need an owner that can commit to keeping his ears healthy, including bi weekly ear meds for preventative measures. He is a gentle and willing patient, who will be happiest snuggled down in a warm cat bed.
Ryker's adoption fee is $85 and includes his neuter, microchip, current vaccinations and FeLV/FIV testing. Last Hope requires that all animals be kept as indoor pets only, we look for adopters who have a history of having kept their pets altered and kept current on vaccinations and preventatives. If you would like to meet Ryker, please submit an adoption application for consideration at Adopthope.org
