Pecan is cute as pie! This handsome boy is as adorable as he is smart. Pecan is a young Black Mouth Cur puppy and has picked up house training and using a dog door remarkably fast and has excellent respect for the boundaries of our older, slightly cranky resident dogs. 

 

Pecan likes fetching toys, pouncing on them when he gets to them, running around the yard, and bringing the occasional stick back inside with him. He is extremely trainable and has picked up a few things we weren’t purposefully training for (kennel up), although he hasn’t figured out how to jump yet. He’s very comfortable in a crate and great in the car. He is a very sweet boy, likes to snuggle, lick the water off your legs after your shower, and enjoys sleeping on his back.

 

Pecan will likely be medium to large sized as an adult, is crate trained and is great in the car. He isn’t timid around new people, but may be a bit slow to approach. Overall, he’s a very good boy!  Pecan is  up to date on vaccines, microchipped, dewormed, and is on the schedule to get neutered soon.  Pecan’s adoption fee is $300 and includes his neuter, microchip, current vaccinations and preventatives plus a free basic obedience course at Cedar Run Company in Hiawatha. Last Hope requires that all animals be kept as indoor pets only, be altered and current on vaccinations and preventatives for consideration.
