INTRODUCING..... Mohave and Pawnee!! They have been waiting over a year now for the purrfect adopters to discover how awesome they are!!
These two handsome boys were rescued in May 2022, along with about 10 other cats who had literally been thrown out of the only home they ever had… if you could call it a ‘home.’ Apparently, litter-after-litter were more than likely born in the mobile home but they were not given anything more than a place to be inside with some food and water… the people did not socialize them or give them any attention or affection or toys to play with.
LHAR had been asked to trap them in the mobile home, as the home owner was moving to a senior citizen housing unit but when we arrived, we were told by the neighbors the family helping her move were just throwing them outside! We trapped 3 inside the home and 9 outside, for 12 cats total... A few of them went to barn home, two went to another rescue, and two of them went to a LHAR foster home where they are thriving in their "come and go as you please", outside fancy 'Cat Motel' :)
Mohave is an extremely handsome BUFF boy - about 2- 2 1/2 years old (April 2023) - who actually loves belly rubs when he is standing up but loves to lay down & turn over to get his belly scratched all over the place for a bit longer, and loves to have his back scratched and for all that attention he has received, he shows his appreciation by purring loudly to thank you for the love! And take a look at their gorgeous copper colored eyes - SO COOL!! Mohave also meows and loves to rub in and out of your your legs, too!
Pawnee is a Buff and White male who is about 1 1/2 years old now (as of April 2023) and altho still a bit shy, he has noticed how Mohave likes to get belly rubs so he has started to enjoy those as well from his foster mom and he has started purring!! The best way to win him over is to have some Squeeze-Up treats - they really get his attention! He wasn't socialized much in the place he was born in, but he has made great strides watching Mohave interact with people!
They have resided in the Waterloo Petsmart Adoption Center several times which has helped them become accustomed to all types of dogs, noises and people coming and going which happens regularly around the Adoption Center! They have also interacted with the daily LHAR volunteers who clean the cages in the AC, too. Pawnee doesn't meow much, and his greeting is more than likely a little hiss - but who knows - maybe that's his way of saying HELLO! They get along great together and they love to snuggle together in the cat tree beds; it is so sweet to see them enjoying life! They also love to watch CAT TV shows running all the time when residing in their foster home - so they are easily entertained that way, too!
They are both completely vetted: they are neutered, have had both their FVRCP Vaccination and their Rabies vaccination, they both tested NEG/NEG for FeLV/FIV, have been treated for parasites and are microchipped. Their chip comes with a free registration, which is a free lifetime registration as well. These two cats are quite bonded, and realizing they weren't given much love and attention in their 'original home,' they have somewhat blossomed together in a loving environment, so we feel it is in their best interest to be ADOPTED TOGETHER! They snuggle and sleep together and are quite affectionate with each other - always grooming and wrapped together when sleeping.
Last Hope Animal Rescue gives a $25.00 discount when adopting a pair of kitties together. Please apply only if you have experience with shy kitties as it may take them awhile to get used to their new environment once adopted.
