LAST HOPE RESCUE IS A FOSTER BASED RESCUE.   OUR ADOPTABLE PETS ARE IN LOVING FOSTER HOMES.

Say HELLO to Molly... A beautiful Silvery gray tabby with some Tortie highlight colors - with stunning amber colored eyes!

Her story of being rescued starts in early May 2022 ~ she was a young pregnant female who was brought to the Last Hope Animal Rescue intake center in Cedar Rapids from an overcrowded situation in Moline, Illinois.  Within just a few days, she gave birth to 5 babies, and a few days later, she became a surrogate mama to 3 abandoned babies as well!  We had no idea of her age, but we guesstimated she was an older kitten herself - several months maybe, but not yet a year for sure...  but what a fantastic mama she was - both in giving birth and caring for all 'her' babies!   She even mothered two more babies a few weeks after her's had started weaning!  What a little godsend she was for those other 5 babies!!

All of the kittens she raised have been adopted, but while they were in her care, 'protective' is another good description for her... being in a foster home with other cats made her very protective of 'her' babies and she wouldn't let the majority of them get too close until the kittens got a little bit older  - she had a rather 'sassy cat-titude', and even with her kittens being gone now, she can still be a bit 'sassy.'  She's still got a lot of 'kitten energy' to wear off, and she does pretty well with some cats, but we believe Molly would do best with only one other cat (a male would probably be best) or just have her new family all to herself!  Additionally, young children might overwhelm her so we think older kids would be better for her as she like things done on her terms and she is not a lap cat.  She hasn't been around dogs since coming into LHAR, so we have no idea how she'd do with them.

Her foster mom really thinks she will bloom like a beautiful flower if she has the right home ~ which would be much more quiet than the foster home she's lived in ~ as she can be an awesome girl when it's all quiet and serene!

Molly is completely vetted:  she is spayed, has had her FVRCP and rabies vaccinations,  she tested NEG/NEG for FeLK/FIV, she's been given dewormer and Revolution - an overall internal/external parasite treatment, and she is microchipped!  Our microchips have a free lifetime registration but you'll always want to keep all of your information ... name, address, phone numbers and email address ... current so if your kitty is ever missing, you have a better chance of getting her back home.

Her adoption fee is $85.  She is currently residing in the Waterloo, IA Petsmart Adoption Center.  You can stop by to see many of the Last Hope Animal Rescue cats/kittens available for adoption who are residing there anytime during normal business hours at 1506 Flammang Drive in the Crossroads Shopping Center area ... Monday-Saturday 9:00-9:00 and from 10:00-7:00 on Sunday; holiday hours will vary.

You can apply for Molly online through our Last Hope Animal Rescue website at  www.adopthope.org.   You must be pre-approved to adopt; a LHAR volunteer will meet you at the store after your application is approved so you can spend time with your potential new family member.  Applicants must be 21 years old; all animals in the potential home must be spayed or neutered, be UTD on all required vaccinations and kept as inside pets only in order for your application to be approved.
